We start our tour from the Walvis Bay Tourism Centre and head towards the famous Dune 7. Although often thought to be one of Namibia’s highest dunes, Dune 7 near Walvis Bay reaches approximately 125–130 metres at its highest point. Located about 7 miles (±11 km) outside the town, it became well known after the South African Defence Force used it as a training ground. Its impressive height and golden slopes make it a must-see landmark.

From Dune 7, we continue along the gravel road, first passing the lichen fields, where guests can admire these delicate and resilient organisms thriving in the harsh desert environment.

Next, we arrive at the Moon Landscape (locally known as Moon Valley), with its dramatic eroded formations and otherworldly scenery — a truly breathtaking sight.

Our journey continues to the Musical Rocks, a natural geological feature where the rocks “sing” when struck, creating a unique auditory experience.

We then visit the iconic Welwitschia plants, some of which are hundreds of years old, showcasing one of Namibia’s most extraordinary desert survivors.

A stop at the Goanikontes Oasis follows, offering a serene spot to rest and appreciate the desert’s hidden beauty.

Finally, we head to Swakopmund, where a quick tour of some historical buildings provides a glimpse into the town’s German colonial heritage — the perfect ending to a day full of natural wonders and unique landscapes.
